Obviously the story has a happy ending.
The advance of technology has laid open vast opportunities for people in all ends of the world to share and take part. And people have. In a connected world, borders matter less. Unfortunately, the breakdown of old hierarchies and values is not an easy transition. The counter reaction has in some cases been horrifying. The choices we make and actions we take, the preferences we show and the words we speak, will all add to the constant evolution of objects, minds, and actions. Change is the only thing we can take for granted. Culture flows in both directions from the rich part of the world to the poor part over the internet, and in the other direction through streams of migrants. Hierarchies and values will change inevitably. Societies that have been razed will eventually be rebuilt.
The force of life is unstoppable.
